How To Clean A Grill Like New

Here are some quick and easy steps for how to clean your grill

During those summer cook outs, it sometimes feels like it will take forever for your grill to heat up. Especially when you and your guests are hungry! Did you know that by cleaning your grill, it will heat up much quicker, prevent flare-ups, and may even make the grill last longer.

Here are some quick and easy steps for how to clean your grill

You Will Need:

  • Medium-size bucket
  • Dish soap & water
  • Rubber gloves
  • Rags or paper towel
  • Wire brush (or aluminum foil)
  • Flashlight

Step 1: Before you clean the grill, whether it’s gas or charcoal, put on gloves!! You may want to consider some old clothes you won’t mind getting dirty as well.

Step 2: Double check the grill is OFF. For safety precautions, if you are using a gas grill disconnect the propane.

Step 3: Try and get a bucket that is big enough for your grates to soak in. If not, try using a facility sink. Fill the bucket with hot, soapy water and wipe the grates down with a rag. Hose them off when finished.

Step 4: Grab your flashlight and inspect the interior of the grill. Make sure you can still see the burners. If they look blocked, use your wire brush to scratch off any soot that is left.

If you don’t have a wire brush, ball up some tin foil and use it as a brush. It works just as good!

Step 5: Remove the grates from the warm water it has been soaking in. Scrape them with the wire brush.

Step 6: Use your damp rag to wipe the grates down again. Make sure to get the corners if you can.

Step 7: Put the grates back onto the grill in reconnect the propane tank if it was removed!

Now you are ready to heat up that grill and feed your hungry guests!

I hope you enjoy!
